On Jan. 7, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck remote regions of Nepal and Tibet killing at least 126 people, injuring scores of people, and damaging more than 3,000 homes. Over 150 aftershocks continued into the evening, 19 of which recorded a 3.0 magnitude.

The powerful seismic waves destroyed homes in remote Himalayan villages, shook a sacred Tibetan city, and unsettled visitors at a Mount Everest base camp.

Less than 10 years ago, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal killed about 9,000 people and injured thousands more.

While this is a developing story, we’ve compiled a list of trusted local organizations supporting humanitarian crises to help earthquake survivors.
